Good things come to those who wait
We’ve recently added the ability for operations personnel to directly control each of their shipit.to trackers’ transmit interval via the platform’s web interface. This functionality has long been in use by our M2M API users and has now also been made available via the portal’s “Trackers” screen.
The amount of time the tracker waits between communication cycles can be set for each tracker independently. Use the ‘Interval’ control from within your Trackers list to adjust this value according to the specific use case appropriate for your cargo.
Recommended settings:
- 30 Minutes for short routes, domestic shipping, air freight
- 1 Hour for multi stop routes, international & multimodal shipping
- 2 Hours for extended routes, international shipping, sea freight
- 4 Hours for international & multimodal shipping, extended storage
